First post!

Anne's been bothering me about starting a blog for a long time, but I never thought I did anything interesting enough to justify it. People with blogs need to have something to say, right? The idea popped into my head again today while I was running, and, while I'm still not sure I really have anything to say, I decided the first day of a training program would be a good day to give it a try.

So, this is a blog about my running training and possibly other stuff. I've never been any good at keeping a journal or writing about my thoughts, so we'll see where that goes.

I'm following Hal Higdon's advanced half marathon training program (half advanced... get it?) with the goal of running a half marathon under 1:30. My personal best in the half is currently 1:42:13 at the Olathe Half on April 4, 2009. Uncle Hal's training programs and I seem to get along well. I used his novice full marathon program to do my first (and at this point, my only) full marathon two years ago.

  1. My friend Andrea and I have a special place in our hearts for Hal. He helped us do our first 10K this year!

Good luck training. Can't wait to hear more about it. :)
